The Secret to a Creamy, High-Protein Smoothie (No Protein Powder Required!)

Are you tired of the same old smoothies? If you’re looking for a breakfast that is thick, satisfying, and packed with protein without using chalky powders, I have the recipe for you.

    The secret? Cottage cheese.

I know, it sounds unconventional! But once you blend it up, the texture becomes incredibly creamy, and you cannot taste the tanginess at all—especially when paired with blueberries and cinnamon.

    The Recipe

This smoothie is perfectly balanced, offering a great mix of fiber, antioxidants, and roughly 17–20g of protein per serving.

    Ingredients

     Frozen Blueberries: 1 cup / 150g

     Frozen Banana: 1/2 banana / 60g

     Cottage Cheese: 1/2 cup / 115g

     Oat Milk: 3/4 cup / 180ml

     Ice: 1/2 cup

     Cinnamon: 1/4 tsp

     Spinach: 1 handful / 15–30g

Chia Seeds: 1 tbsp (for extra fiber and protein)

    Method

    1. Prep the Base: Add the oat milk and spinach to your blender first. Blend until the spinach is fully liquified—this ensures you don’t get any leafy bits.

    2. Add the Body: Add the cottage cheese, frozen banana, frozen blueberries, and cinnamon.

    3. The Chill Factor: Add your 1/2 cup of ice and the chia seeds on top.

    4. Blend: Start on low and gradually increase to high. If it’s too thick, add a splash more oat milk until you reach your perfect consistency.

    5. Enjoy: Pour into a glass and serve immediately!

    Why This Works

The cottage cheese acts as a complete protein source, keeping you full until lunch. By using oat milk, you get a lovely, neutral sweetness that complements the blueberries, while the cinnamon adds a warm, muffin-like flavor profile.
